BirthControl05 - 8HourAnimal 'Pejorative' Cassette

Brand new from Birth Control Productions cometh the debut album from the secretive New York City artist. A troublingly ambiguous mixture of sensory inputs, all of which merge flawlessly together on this rhythmically-driven Power Electronics offering, originally recorded and released on a private basis a couple of years back.

 It is unclear which noises are electronically generated here vs. which are hopelessly deformed renditions of instrumental recordings, but the overall impression is one of heavy Power Electronics approached from an emotionally-driven and techno-influenced perspective. Looped layers and compressed sizzles evoke something like the musical equivalent of coming down from club drugs surrounded by the once-warm, now-cold lights of the modern cosmopolis.

 At times this album almost has “beats.” Neon synth tones are countermeasured with crunchfucked distortion blowout to provide the ideal bed for occasional outbursts of purely spiteful vocal violence, as well as the rare and deeply-embedded sung phrase.

Clearly the work of an Industrial Noise artist possessing some degree of formal musical training, ‘Pejorative’ will carefully mesmerize and then mercilessly destroy you. Has an atmosphere of atomised bedroom desperation far different, and yet not at all incompatible with, the preceding Birth Control catalog to date. Recommended for fans of Propergol, Jason Crumer, early Vidna Obmana, and mid-period Prurient.

Ysk has made quite an impression over the past year with a steady stream of high-quality releases on underground labels from around the world. Now the irrepressible Japanese artist joins the BCP roster with this Industrial Harsh Noise opus, available exclusively in an ultra-limited CDr edition of 36 hand-numbered jewel cases. Crazed, incessant electronic pulsations conjure images of slaughterhouses, munitions factories, abortion clinics, and animal testing facilities. Angular and deliberate, yet texturally thick and sludgy as all fuck. Tortured machines do their best impersonations of this cursed planet's many suffering lifeforms.

These 8 tracks, each exactly 4 minutes in length, comprise one coherent 32-minute composition of pure improvisatory madness, each modulation in its ever-changing assault precisely fixed in place. Has to be heard in full to be fully believed.

Late last month, the divine Fusty Cunt label issued Abuse Potential's 'The Rare Oul Stuff' C30 in a limited edition of 42 copies.

This release was inspired by my frustrating attempts to rid myself of alcohol dependence, as well as the general relationship between drunkenness and decay: a connection deeply rooted in Western culture/White genetics.

Truly gritty, dead atmospheres inspired by harsh noise wall. One massive composition with a tomblike atmosphere. Baptism by world-immersing waves of fire. Originally released in 2012 as a cassette on Italy’s Santos productions, Alexander Bianco’s cult classic of analogue Industrial noise horror is an unrelenting aural confrontation with humanity at its ugliest and most pathetic. Although Bianco resides in the USA, he wears his love for the underground Italian Industrial scene on his sleeve: he dedicates ‘Nihil’ to Pierpaolo Zoppo, the mad genius behind Mauthausen Orchestra, who died during the final stages of this album's recording. Like Zoppo’s work, and that of Bianchi, and of Corbelli, this album is harsh beyond belief continuously whilst also maintaining a sense of the unexpected. In the hands of a sadist, in our final moments, anything might happen to our fragile bodies and souls…
